1:46pm - A senior citizen apparently attempting to parallel park, allegedly had a pedal error, causing his vehicle to jump the curb, knock over a small tree, injure a man's knee, and frighten his young daughter. According to a manager at Pino's La Forchetta Pizzeria, "the car crashed into the building a little bit." Additionally, the manager said that he, "thought a little girl got hit…people started yelling." After hitting the wall of the pizzeria, the senior citizen alledgedly drove forward in an attempt to get off of the side walk, causing him come within inches of colliding with a silver Chevrolet. Multiple witnesses commented on the illogical angle that the car was positioned and said that, "It looks like it fell out of the sky." A young girl who had witnessed the accident take place said, "yeah and they brought the dad into the ambulance..and there was also a hat under the front of the car." There was a mass response to the accident and two fire trucks, three ambulances, and two police cars showed up at the scene. Additionally, a woman who identified herself as the daughter of the driver, argued against press coverage, however, she did say that "he had only had the car for three days". Eventually, a paramedic backed the car up the side walk, while police held back bystanders, and the senior citizen and his daughter got in his car and left the scene.
